Fluffy, soft cinnamon rolls filled with warmth and topped with a silky glaze, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes, allowing the yeast to bloom and become frothy.
  2. Combine wet ingredients: Add in the sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg to the bowl. Mix until combined.
  3. Form the dough: Gradually add flour to your mixture, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread butter, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar, then roll tightly and slice.
  6. Let the rolls rise again for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake the rolls at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then pour over warm rolls.

Notes

Serve with coffee or fresh orange juice for the perfect pairing. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or frozen without glaze for up to 2 months.
