Spicy Tuna Sandwich

A delightful twist on a classic sandwich, packed with flavor and crunch from fresh veggies and spicy tuna.

Ingredients

  • 425g can of tuna (in oil or brine)
  • 1 medium sized cucumber, sliced
  • 6 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 cups of lettuce, chopped
  • 5 tbsp of mayonnaise
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp of chilli flakes
  • Toasted bread, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna Mixture: Open the can of tuna and drain off any excess liquid. In a bowl, combine the tuna with mayonnaise. Mix well until creamy and smooth. Don’t forget to sprinkle in some salt to taste!
  2. Chop the Vegetables: Using a sharp knife, finely chop the green chillies and slice the cucumber into thin rounds. The freshness of these veggies will both decorate and flavor your sandwich wonderfully.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich: Take a slice of your toasted bread and lay it out flat. Spread a generous portion of the tuna mixture on top, ensuring you cover every inch. Next, layer on the sliced cucumber, chopped lettuce, and a few green chillies to create that spicy explosion of flavor.
  4. Add Final Touches: Sprinkle some chilli flakes over the top for that extra kick. Place another slice of bread on top to complete your sandwich. If you prefer, you can slice the sandwich in half for easy handling.

Notes

Serve with a side of crispy potato chips or a refreshing salad.
