Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sweet relish
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 red onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves for serving
  • Sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by emptying the drained tuna into a medium-sized bowl. Make sure to break it up with a fork, creating a nice, flaky texture.
  2. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and sweet relish to the tuna. Introduce the finely chopped celery and red onion, sprinkling in salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Stir everything together until it’s well combined and all the flavors are dancing together.
  4. Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of tuna salad onto each leaf.
  5. If you want to elevate your dish, add garnishes such as sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives around the tuna salad.
  6. Enjoy your homemade tuna salad right away or serve it at your next gathering.

Notes

For a creamier texture, consider substituting mayonnaise with Greek yogurt. Adjust seasonings to your preference.
