Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Brussels Sprouts (Fresh is best; if using frozen, ensure they’re thawed.)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (Can substitute with olive oil.)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (Adjust the amount to suit your taste.)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (Adjust according to preference.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground for best flavor.)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey (Can substitute with maple syrup.)
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar (Adjust based on taste.)
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce (Low-sodium option available.)
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (Fresh preferred; ground ginger can be used.)
  • 1/2 cup Crispy Fried Onions (Optional but recommended.)
  • 1/2 cup Nuts (Optional; walnuts or pecans work well.)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and trim Brussels sprouts under cold water, removing any yellowing leaves.
  2. Cut each Brussels sprout in half to maximize crispiness.
  3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Whisk together melted butter, olive oil, soy sauce, honey, sugar, ginger, salt, and pepper for the sauce.
  5. Toss halved Brussels sprouts in a mixing bowl with the flavorful sauce.
  6. Spread Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking tray and roast for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with crispy fried onions and nuts.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh Brussels sprouts for better texture; can experiment with flavors like sriracha or different nuts.
