Delightful Authentic French Nutella Strawberry Crepes

A delightful recipe for authentic French crepes filled with Nutella and fresh strawberries, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons dark rum
  • 2 teaspoons orange blossom water
  • As needed cooking oil
  • 1 jar Nutella
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • As desired whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: combine the flour, cornstarch, vanilla sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients in another bowl: whisk the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, dark rum, and orange blossom water. Mix until smooth.
  4. Whisk the wet mixture into the dry mixture until lump-free. Let rest for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking oil.
  6. Cook the crepes by pouring about a half cup of batter into the pan, tilting to spread into a thin layer. Cook until edges lift and bottom is golden, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Flip the crepe gently with a spatula and cook for an additional minute until set. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  8. Assemble the crepes by spreading Nutella on one half and adding strawberries, then fold in half and again for the classic shape.
  9. Garnish with whipped cream and additional strawberries, and drizzle with more Nutella. Serve immediately.

Notes

These crepes can be enhanced with powdered sugar or paired with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
