Delightful bite-sized snacks with a crispy exterior and creamy, cheesy center, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls or poppers, about one tablespoon per popper.
  3. Set up a breading station with the beaten egg in one bowl and the breadcrumbs in another.
  4. Coat each ball in egg, letting the excess drip off, then roll in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat for shallow frying.
  6. Fry the poppers in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For an extra crispy coating, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs. These poppers can also be baked at 375°F for about 20-25 minutes if you prefer.
