Crispy Chicken Chimichangas

Delightful and crispy chimichangas filled with savory chicken, cheese, and taco seasoning, perfect for family dinners or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salsa, for serving
  • Sour cream, for serving
  • Lettuce, diced tomatoes, and avocado, for toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare your air fryer.
  2. Mix the shredded chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheese, and taco seasoning in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Place a generous amount of the chicken mixture in the center of each tortilla. Fold in the sides and roll it up tightly.
  4. Brush the chimichangas with olive oil.
  5. Arrange them on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or place them in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through.
  6. Serve hot with salsa, sour cream, and assorted fresh toppings.

Notes

These chimichangas can be customized with various toppings, and leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
