A delightful pastry that marries the bold flavors of espresso with sweet tart apples, all encased in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 apple, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares, about 4×4 inches each.
  3. Mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, espresso powder, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square, spreading it out slightly but leaving space on the edges.
  5. Top the cream cheese with sliced apples, then sprinkle a mix of cinnamon and sugar over them.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over to form a pocket, ensuring that the filling is enclosed. Brush the tops with egg wash.
  7. Bake the pastries on a lined baking sheet for 15-20 minutes or until puffed up and golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, and enjoy!
