Hearty Slow Cooker Cowboy Beans

A comforting dish of flavorful beans and ground beef, slow-cooked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  2. Combine the cooked ground beef, kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans, onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, BBQ sauce, chili powder, cumin, and season with salt and pepper in a slow cooker.
  3. Stir the mixture until everything is well combined.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy your hearty cowboy beans.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding diced bell peppers or jalapeños. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
