Transform simple sugar cookies into stunning works of art with this glossy, vibrant icing that adds creativity and sweetness to any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup. Whisk together until the mixture is beautifully smooth.
  2. Take a moment to check the texture. If it’s too thick, gently stir in more milk a teaspoon at a time until you achieve that silky-smooth consistency perfect for icing.
  3. Divide the icing into separate bowls for each color you want to create. Add food coloring drop by drop, mixing as you go, until you reach your desired shades.
  4. With your piping bag ready (or a simple brush if you’re feeling casual), carefully apply the icing to your cooled sugar cookies.
  5. Once decorated, allow the cookies to sit at room temperature for the icing to dry completely—about 1-2 hours.

Notes

For professional finish, experiment with different piping tips. If icing becomes too runny, add more powdered sugar to thicken.
