A simplified and delightful take on traditional baklava, these Baklava Scrolls are flaky, sweet, and easy to make with just five ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups chopped nuts (walnuts or pistachios)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready to perfectly cook your scrolls.
  2. Butter a baking dish to prevent sticking and to help achieve that heavenly golden crust.
  3. Layer sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each layer with melted butter for a luscious, flaky texture.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the phyllo layers, allowing their rich flavor to infuse throughout the dessert.
  5. Roll the phyllo into a tight log, encasing the nuts thoroughly, then slice into beautiful scrolls.
  6. Drizzle honey over the top of the scrolls, followed by a sprinkle of sugar that will melt into a sweet glaze during baking.
  7. Bake for about 30–35 minutes until golden brown, filling the kitchen with a warm, sweet aroma.
  8. Once out of the oven, drizzle a bit more honey on top and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftover scrolls in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days, or freeze before baking for later enjoyment.
