A luxurious dessert that captures the essence of joy with layers of mascarpone, cherries, and a hint of amaretto.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Whip the cream: In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream and sugar together until soft peaks form.
  2. Incorporate the mascarpone: Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  3. Prepare the ladyfingers: Dip each ladyfinger in the coffee mixed with amaretto.
  4. Layer the first batch: Layer the dipped ladyfingers in a serving dish to create your base.
  5. Add the mascarpone mixture: Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Sprinkle the cherries: Sprinkle half of the chopped cherries over the mascarpone layer.
  7. Repeat the layers: Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cherries.
  8. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Dust and serve: Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

For the freshest flavor, use high-quality mascarpone and ripe cherries. You can substitute amaretto with other flavored liqueurs or almond extract.
