A fragrant Italian fisherman’s stew that warms the heart and soul, filled with fresh seafood and aromatic flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound scallops
  • 1 pound mussels, cleaned
  • 1 pound calamari, sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups fish stock
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Aromatics: In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until these ingredients are softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  2. Build the Base: Add the crushed tomatoes, fish stock, and white wine to the pot, stirring everything together. Then, sprinkle in the dried oregano and red pepper flakes for that perfect kick.
  3. Simmer the Broth: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to let it simmer gently for about 15 minutes. This allows all the flavors to mingle and deepen, creating a rich, savory broth.
  4. Add the Seafood: Now it’s time to add all that gorgeous seafood! Gently stir in the shrimp, scallops, mussels, and sliced calamari. Cover the pot and cook until the seafood is cooked through, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Season to Perfection: After the seafood is cooked, taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper. This is your cozy stew, so make it just the way you like!
  6. Garnish & Serve: Once everything is cooked, ladle into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Serve warm, and watch everyone’s faces light up with joy.
