A creamy and dreamy pizza sauce that elevates any pizza with rich flavors of garlic and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Gradually add the milk, whisking to avoid lumps.
  5. Cook while stirring until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Stir in the Parmesan, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until combined.
  7. Cool slightly before using or storing.

Notes

For an even creamier sauce, use half and half or heavy cream instead of whole milk.
