Crispy Tofu Nuggets

Deliciously crispy tofu nuggets that are perfect as a snack or added to meals, packed with flavor and entirely plant-based.

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture.
  3. Combine cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Place breadcrumbs in another bowl for coating.
  5. Dredge each tofu piece in the cornstarch mixture, then in breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  7. Add the tofu nuggets to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Transfer the fried nuggets to a baking sheet and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
