A creamy and flavorful sardine pâté that’s perfect for appetizers or gatherings, blending rich sardines with cream cheese, lemon, and spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 can sardines in oil
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 small shallot, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capers, rinsed and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients for the base: In a bowl, combine sardines, cream cheese, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard.
  2. Mash the mixture until well combined. This will create a creamy base for your pâté.
  3. Add fresh flavors: Add shallot, capers, parsley, salt, and pepper; stir until mixed.
  4. Transfer to a serving dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve with crackers or bread, enjoying the delightful combination of flavors.

Notes

Best served chilled with crackers or bread. Leftover pâté can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
