Classic Manicotti

A comforting Italian dish of pasta shells filled with creamy cheese and marinara sauce, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 manicotti shells
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the manicotti shells according to the package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside to cool.
  3. Combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Stuff each manicotti shell with the cheesy mixture.
  5. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce onto the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed manicotti shells in the baking dish.
  7. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top of the shells.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Uncover and sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese on top; bake for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pair with a salad and garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
