Delightful and fluffy sweet potato buns with a vibrant purple hue and subtle sweetness, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup mashed purple sweet potato
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add mashed sweet potato, warm water, and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the risen dough into small buns and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Let the buns rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or jam. Great for sandwiches or alongside soup.
