Mini Custard Tarts

Delicious and flaky mini custard tarts filled with a luscious creamy custard, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the chilled, cubed butter into the bowl and blend them together until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press the dough into mini tart pans, covering the bottom and sides evenly.
  5. Place the tart pans in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
  6. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, 1/4 cup sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Carefully pour the custard mixture into the pre-baked shells, filling them to just below the rim.
  8. Return the filled tarts to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  9. Let the tarts cool in the pans for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

These tarts can be served chilled or at room temperature. Pair with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream.
