Delight in these crispy asparagus spears, coated with Asiago cheese and golden breadcrumbs, perfect as a side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Fresh asparagus spears
  • Asiago cheese (grated)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • All-purpose flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and trim the asparagus spears, removing the woody ends.
  3. Prepare your breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with grated Asiago, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each asparagus spear in flour, shake off excess, dip in egg, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place the breaded asparagus on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle olive oil over them.
  6. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For an even crispier finish, consider using panko breadcrumbs. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
