A simple, rich, and guilt-free chocolate cake made in one bowl, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Combine gluten-free flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add almond milk, oil, apple cider vinegar, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in the dairy-free chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice your cake and serve!

Notes

Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
