Delightful biscuit twists made with creamy ricotta and almond extract, perfect for snacks or desserts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the ricotta cheese, sugar, softened butter, and almond extract until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick and cut into strips or twists.
  5. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and bake for 15-18 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through.
  6. Allow the twists to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Dough may be adjusted with flour or milk for consistency. Don’t overbake to maintain softness.
