A rich and buttery dish of sautéed mushrooms with garlic and tamari, perfect as a side or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons butter or vegan butter
  • 450 g (16 oz) mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced or pressed
  • 1–3 teaspoons gluten-free reduced-sodium tamari (or soy sauce if not gluten-free)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until melted and gently sizzling.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and toss to coat evenly. Sauté for several minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their moisture.
  3. Add the minced garlic and continue cooking until the liquid has fully evaporated and the mushrooms turn golden brown and slightly caramelized, about 10–12 minutes.
  4. Drizzle in the tamari, starting with 1 teaspoon, and stir well to glaze the mushrooms. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve immediately, allowing the flavors to shine in your dish!

Notes

For added flavor, consider a splash of balsamic vinegar at the end of cooking. Fresh herbs like thyme or parsley can also enhance the dish.
