Garlic Herb Dutch Oven Bread

A comforting homemade bread infused with garlic and fresh herbs, perfect for any meal or snack.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix the warm water, minced garlic, olive oil, and chopped herbs in a separate bowl.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
  5. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
  6. Dust the top of the loaf with flour and cover it with a kitchen towel to rest for 1 to 2 hours.
  7. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside for 30 minutes.
  8. Place the dough in the preheated Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
  9. Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool before slicing.

Notes

Store leftover bread wrapped or in an airtight container for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen for future use.
