Discover the joy of making homemade pasta, a simple but rewarding cooking experience that brings family traditions to life.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Start by measuring 2 cups of flour and pour it into a large mixing bowl. Create a well in the center and crack in the 3 large eggs.
  2. Knead the Mixture: Using your hands, gently mix the flour and eggs together until a shaggy dough forms. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough is ready, break it into four pieces. Take the first piece and roll it out with a rolling pin or pasta machine until you reach your desired thickness, dusting with flour to prevent sticking.
  4. Cut into Shapes: Now, it’s time to cut your pasta. Whether you prefer fettuccine, tagliatelle, lasagna sheets, or ravioli, use a sharp knife or a pasta cutter to shape the dough into your preferred form.
  5. Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Gently drop your freshly cut pasta into the boiling water. Cook for 2-4 minutes or until tender. Taste to check for doneness, then drain and serve immediately with your favorite sauce.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but you can freeze leftovers for up to 2 months.
