Million Dollar Spaghetti

A comforting and indulgent dish featuring layers of spaghetti, rich meat sauce, and creamy cheese that’s perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • ½ pound ground Italian sausage (or pork sausage)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese or ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ⅔ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook and crumble the ground beef and sausage in a skillet, seasoned with salt and pepper.
  3. Drain excess grease and add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion softens.
  4. Stir in all but ½ cup of marinara sauce; set the reserved sauce aside.
  5. Boil the spaghetti noodles until al dente, then toss with butter and reserved marinara sauce.
  6. Mix together softened cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese until smooth.
  7. Spread half of the spaghetti in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, then layer with cheese mixture and remaining spaghetti.
  8. Pour the meat sauce over the spaghetti, spreading evenly.
  9. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
  10. Bake for 30-40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  11. Rest for 15 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

Make sure to drain the meat well to prevent a greasy casserole. Use quality marinara sauce for impactful flavor.
