A flavorful roasted turkey breast enveloped in rich herb butter, perfect for family gatherings and cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole or half bone-in turkey breast (or boneless)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon fresh sage, chopped

Instructions

  1. Thaw the turkey. If your turkey breast is frozen, plan ahead and thaw it in the refrigerator, allowing 24 hours of thawing time for every 5 pounds.
  2. Bring to room temperature. After thawing, remove the turkey from the fridge about 20 minutes before you start cooking.
  3. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  4. Make the herb butter by combining softened butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
  5. Season the turkey breast with salt and pepper.
  6. Apply the herb butter underneath the skin of the turkey breast and all over the outside.
  7. Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan or baking dish.
  8. Roast at 325°F (165°C) for about 14–15 minutes per pound until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Rest the turkey for at least 15 minutes before carving.
  10. Carve and serve the turkey breast slices to your family.

Notes
