A warm, hearty dish featuring tender chicken thighs enveloped in a rich, creamy gravy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Seasoning the Chicken: Season the chicken thighs generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Searing the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs, skin side down, and sear until golden brown, about 6-8 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until fully cooked through.
  3. Sautéing the Onions: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the chopped onion. Sauté until translucent and lightly golden, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Adding Garlic: Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Deglazing the Skillet: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and paprika.
  6. Simmering the Chicken: Return the chicken thighs to the skillet, skin side up, and let them simmer for about 10 minutes.
  7. Whisking the Cream: In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream and flour until smooth, then stir into the skillet. Let the gravy thicken for about 5 minutes.
  8. Garnishing and Serving: Once the gravy thickens, remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the gravy. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
