A comforting tilapia cream sauce featuring tender fish and a rich, flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces tilapia fillet
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Begin by patting the tilapia fillets dry. Season both sides with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the seasoned tilapia fillets to the hot skillet and cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Remove the fillets and set them aside, letting the skillet retain the browned bits.
  5. Throw in the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits, and let it simmer for about one minute.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Return the tilapia fillets to the skillet, gently spoon the cream sauce over the fish, and finish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of white wine while deglazing the skillet. Experiment with herbs like dill or chives for a unique twist.
