Savory Garlic Butter Cabbage Steaks

Transform a head of cabbage into delicious garlic butter roasted steaks, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. Place the cabbage slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with olive oil.
  5. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and add the minced garlic.
  6. Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over both sides of the cabbage steaks.
  7. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika over the cabbage.
  8. Roast the cabbage steaks in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then flip and roast for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Once done, sprinkle with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes.
  10. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

These cabbage steaks are great as a side or a main dish. Can be paired with grilled meats or fresh salads.
