Delightful strawberry cream cheese rolls wrapped in buttery puff pastry, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 275 g Frischkäse (cream cheese)
  • 50 g Zucker (sugar)
  • 1 Ei (egg)
  • 1 TL Vanilleextrakt (vanilla extract)
  • 1 EL Speisestärke (cornstarch)
  • 100 ml Schlagsahne (heavy cream)
  • 200 g Erdbeeren (strawberries)
  • 1 Blatt Blätterteig (puff pastry)
  • 1 Ei zum Bestreichen (egg for glazing)
  • 1 EL Milch zum Bestreichen (milk for glazing)
  • 1 EL Puderzucker zum Bestäuben (powdered sugar for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. Create the creamy filling by mixing cream cheese, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and heavy cream in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Prepare the strawberries by washing them, removing the green stems, and cutting them into small cubes.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Assemble the rolls by spreading the cream cheese mixture evenly on the pastry and distributing the strawberry cubes on top.
  6. Shape the rolls by tightly rolling the pastry from one long side and cutting the roll into about 3 cm thick slices.
  7. Prepare for baking by whisking the egg and milk together in a bowl and brushing each roll with the mixture.
  8. Bake the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Cool the finished rolls briefly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. They can be stored at room temperature for up to two days or in the fridge for up to four days.
