A classic meatloaf recipe with a tangy glaze, perfect for family gatherings and comforting dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (thyme or oregano)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried herbs, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  4. Mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to create the glaze.
  5. Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, basting with the remaining glaze halfway through.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months.
