A comforting dish of tender meatballs simmered in beef broth with mushrooms and silky egg noodles, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups wide egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine Meatball Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined, then form the mixture into meatballs.
  2. Simmer Meatballs in Broth: In a large pot, bring beef broth to a simmer. Carefully add the meatballs to the pot and let them cook for about 10 minutes until they are cooked through and tender.
  3. Add Mushrooms: Once the meatballs are fully cooked, add sliced mushrooms to the pot. Allow the mixture to continue simmering, letting the mushrooms infuse their flavor into the broth.
  4. Cook Egg Noodles: While the meatballs and broth simmer, fill a separate pot with water and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until they are al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. Serve and Garnish: To serve, place the cooked egg noodles on a plate, generously ladle over the meatballs and rich gravy, and finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley for a fresh touch.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze the meatballs and broth for up to 3 months.
