A sweet twist on classic cinnamon rolls filled with crushed Oreo cookies and chocolate chips, perfect for special occasions or a cozy breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Warm the milk and butter: In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm.
  3. Mix wet and dry ingredients: Add the warm milk mixture to the dry ingredients along with the egg. Mix well until combined.
  4. Create the dough: Gradually add the remaining flour until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  7. Roll out the dough: Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread it with softened butter.
  8. Sprinkle with flavor: In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the dough, then add the crushed Oreos and chocolate chips.
  9. Roll and slice: Roll the dough tightly from the long side and cut into rolls.
  10. Second rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat and bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Prepare the icing: While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  13. Drizzle and enjoy: Remove the warm cinnamon rolls from the oven. Drizzle the icing over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra touch, try pairing these rolls with a chilled glass of milk or a steaming cup of coffee. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
