Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 pounds Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs
  • 1 can Cream of Chicken Soup (condensed)
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth (or Vegetable Broth)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 12 tablespoons Non-Alcoholic Cooking White Wine Substitute (or extra chicken broth)
  • 1 packet Dry Gravy Mix (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Black Pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried Thyme or Poultry Seasoning
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour or Cornstarch (for homemade gravy base, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Crockpot: Lightly spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Lay the Chicken: Arrange your boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs) evenly in a single layer at the bottom of your prepared crockpot.
  3. Whisk the Gravy Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and non-alcoholic cooking white wine substitute. If using a dry gravy mix, whisk that in now too.
  4. Season It Up: Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and dried thyme into your gravy mixture.
  5. Pour Over Chicken: Carefully pour the entire gravy mixture evenly over the chicken in the crockpot.
  6. Set and Forget: Place the lid on your slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  7. Shred the Chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker and shred them into bite-sized pieces.
  8. Thicken the Gravy (Optional): Whisk in cornstarch into a cup of hot liquid and return it to the crockpot.
  9. Return and Serve: Stir the shredded chicken back into the thickened gravy and let it warm through for another 5-10 minutes.
  10. Taste and Adjust: Before serving, taste the gravy and adjust any seasonings as needed.
  11. Serve It Up: Ladle the Crockpot Chicken and Gravy over rice, potatoes, or your favorite side dish.
