Spicy jalapenos and creamy cheese wrapped in flaky dough make these Jalapeno Popper Pigs in a Blanket a perfect party appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Jalapenos
  • Cream cheese
  • Sausage (such as cocktail sausages or hot dogs)
  • Pillsbury crescent dough or puff pastry
  • Cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil (for baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the jalapenos by slicing each in half lengthwise and removing the seeds.
  3. Mix the cream cheese with shredded cheddar cheese (if using) until smooth and spreadable.
  4. Fill each jalapeno half generously with the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Wrap each sausage in a filled jalapeno, and then wrap them in the crescent dough or puff pastry, ensuring edges are sealed.
  6. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for the jalapeno poppers.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Adjust the spice level by modifying the amount of jalapenos used. These poppers can be made ahead of time and stored unbaked in the fridge.
