Brown Butter Honey Pistachio Bars

Chewy, nutty bars with a perfect combination of brown butter and honey, enriched with toasted pistachios.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9Ɨ9 inch baking pan.
  2. Brown the butter by melting it over medium heat until golden brown.
  3. Combine the brown sugar and honey into the melted butter until mixed well.
  4. Prepare the dry mixture by whisking together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, folding in the pistachios and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.
