Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Gather your dry ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
  2. Whisk together the wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until well combined.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Fold in the diced apples: Delicately incorporate the diced apples into your batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  5. Heat the oil: In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Fry the fritters: Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Drain the fritters: Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritters and drain them on paper towels.
  8. Prepare the glaze: In a separate bowl, mix together powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  9. Drizzle and serve: While the fritters are still warm, drizzle the glaze over them and enjoy immediately.

Notes
