A comforting and elegant one-pan meal featuring tender garlic butter chicken and vibrant green beans, perfect for busy kitchens.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs (680g) chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tbsp (42g) butter, divided
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) chicken broth (or water)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and onion powder, making sure each piece is evenly coated.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat until the butter is melted and shimmering.
  3. Add the seasoned chicken to the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for 4–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, the minced garlic, and the trimmed green beans. Sauté for 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the green beans begin to brighten.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth (or water), then cover the skillet and allow the green beans to steam for 2 minutes.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss everything together to coat the chicken and green beans in the garlic butter sauce.
  7. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Pairs well with fluffy rice or quinoa to soak up the garlic butter sauce.
