Indulgent dessert featuring three layers of chocolate mousse: dark, milk, and white, creating a rich and elegant treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 4 oz milk chocolate, chopped
  • 4 oz white chocolate, chopped
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 package chocolate sponge cake (optional)
  • Chocolate for dipping (for domes)

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler. Let it cool slightly, then whip 1 cup of the heavy cream until soft peaks form and fold it gently into the dark chocolate. Pour this decadent mixture into dome molds and freeze until set.
  2. Prepare the milk chocolate layer by repeating the same process—melting it down and folding in another cup of whipped heavy cream until fully incorporated. Pour over the dark chocolate layer in the dome molds and return to the freezer until set.
  3. Create the white chocolate mousse by melting the white chocolate and folding in another cup of whipped cream. Pour over the milk chocolate layer in the dome molds. Freeze again until everything is completely set.
  4. Assemble the domes by carefully removing them from the molds. Dip the tops in melted chocolate to seal them, creating a glossy finish.
  5. Optional: If desired, prepare a chocolate sponge cake base and place each dome on it right before serving for added texture.
  6. Serve chilled and enjoy as guests slice through these impressive Triple Chocolate Mousse Domes.

Notes

Use quality chocolate for richer flavor. Whip heavy cream when it’s cold for best results.
