A deliciously simple dish that brings all the comforting flavors of stuffed cabbage rolls into one delightful pan.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
  • 1 small head cabbage (approx. 900g), chopped
  • 1 onion (approx. 150g), diced
  • 2 cloves garlic (approx. 10g), minced
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425g) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz / 411g) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup (185g) cooked white or brown rice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and onion in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef as it cooks and draining excess fat.
  2. Add the minced garlic, stirring constantly for about a minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the chopped cabbage, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, paprika, salt, and pepper until the cabbage is coated with the sauce.
  4. Cover the skillet and let it simmer over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Mix in the cooked rice, heating it through for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a fresh salad or crusty bread. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
