A warm, comforting Apple Crumble reminiscent of autumn afternoons and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar, divided
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine sliced apples, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  3. Spread the apple mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. Mix together the all-purpose flour, oats, the remaining 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Use a mix of apples for depth of flavor and consider adding nuts for extra texture.
