A rich and creamy butter chicken recipe that transports you to the streets of Delhi with every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat, allowing it to sizzle and foam.
  2. Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Toss in the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree along with cumin, coriander, and garam masala. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring gently.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

Serve with basmati rice or warm naan. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
