Ingredients

Scale

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil for about 30 minutes.
  2. Dredge the marinated chicken in cornstarch.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat, and fry the chicken until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté garlic and ginger in the same pan for a minute.
  5. Add chicken broth, sugar, and soy sauce, bringing the mixture to a boil.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture and let it thicken.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the coated chicken rest before frying. Adjust sugar for desired sweetness.
