Indulge in these nostalgic Homemade Twix Bars, featuring a buttery shortbread base, gooey caramel layer, and smooth chocolate topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortbread cookies
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. Crush the shortbread cookies into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter.
  3. Press the cookie mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Combine sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over the baked crust and let cool slightly.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  7. Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  9. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to a month.
