Experience the rich flavors of Philadelphia with this classic cheesesteak made with thinly sliced ribeye, sautéed peppers, and melted provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef (ribeye)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, or cheese whiz
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil.
  2. Sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Prepare the hoagie rolls by splitting them and placing slices of provolone cheese on top of the meat mixture.
  5. Melt the cheese by covering the skillet to allow it to melt.
  6. Assemble the sandwiches by scooping the beef and cheese mixture into the hoagie rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, consider toasting the hoagie rolls before assembly. You can also substitute chicken or tofu for a different variation.
