Juicy and crispy smash burgers that bring the flavors of summertime barbecues right to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 4 Burger buns
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a flat-top griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into equal portions and form them into loose balls.
  3. Place the balls on the griddle and smash them down to form patties.
  4. Season with salt and pepper immediately.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes until a crust forms, then flip and cook for another minute.
  6. Place cheese on the patty after flipping, if using.
  7. Toast the burger buns on the griddle.
  8. Assemble the burgers with your choice of toppings and serve immediately.

Notes

For juicier burgers, choose ground beef with higher fat content (like 80/20). Patience is key in preheating the griddle.
