Ingredients

  • 500g bread flour
  • 350ml water
  • 10g salt
  • 5g active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, water, and yeast until combined. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Add salt and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Divide the dough into portions and shape them into baguettes.
  5. Let the shaped dough rise for 45 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pan with water at the bottom.
  7. Make slashes on the surface of the baguettes.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Enjoy with butter, cheese, or as a base for sandwiches. Store in a bag at room temperature for up to 2 days.
