A satisfying and quick take on the classic Chinese dish Beef and Broccoli, perfect for weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (sliced thin)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef in a bowl with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds.
  4. Cook the marinated beef until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Toss in the broccoli florets and water, covering to steam for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For optimal tenderness, slice beef against the grain and prepare all ingredients ahead of time for smooth cooking.
