Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Create a Flavor-Packed Spice Rub: In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create a spice rub.
  2. Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. Season the Fillets: Rub the spice mixture evenly over the fillets on all sides.
  4. Heat the Skillet: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Sear the Fillets: Once the oil is hot, add the fillets skin-side down and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Flip and Finish Cooking: Flip the fillets carefully and cook for another 4-5 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through.
  7. Serve with a Poppy Citrus Twist: Remove from heat and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Don’t skip drying the fillets to ensure a better sear. Customize the spice rub to your heat preference.
